Last
year Xioami got inspired from Apple watch and launched their new MI Watch in the market. This year on March 06,2020, another Chinese brand called ‘OPPO’
introduced all new OPPO watch which took most of the design element from Apple watch
(well, we can also mention as ‘INSPIRED’) followed by the OPPO’s new flagship mobile called
X2 in Find series launch.
In this lauch event, OPPO lauched its new smart watch category as part of the companies new attempt in the field of IoT. OPPO watch has been launched in two varients, one in 46mm varient and another one in 41mm varient both having a water resistant capabilities of 5 ATM and 3 ATM respectively with dual chip endurance system which means, this smart watch uses two different chipsets built inside, one for heavy usage and another one is for power saving mode both run on a OPPO's Color OS build on top of the Android Wear OS.
Taking about the build quality of the watch, OPPO watch screen was built with the technology called 'Flexible hyperboloid' which was used in OPPO smart phones to get the curved edges on the watch. Smart watch screen is made up of AMOLED technology to get the vivid color and brightness with capacitive touchscreen which has a 1.91 inches (~ 72.76% screen to body ratio) along with 406x476 pixels (~326 ppi density) at 100% DCI-P3 color gamat.
Front side of OPPO watch has a combination of 4.5mm aluminium frame and 3D curved glass which is made up of AMOLED technology. On the back, OPPO uses ceramic metarial which houses sensors and heart rate monitor which is a ECG certified. Not like the sliding mechanism used on the straps like Apple, OPPO uses a single button to remove the straps easily.
OPPO watch comes with e-SIM based cellular connectivity in-build which means we can use this watch as a standalone mobile phone for making and receiving phone calls without the help of a smartphone. OPPO watch comes with VOOC flash charge capability which is a powerful charging technology used in OPPO smartphones to charge the smart watch very quickly.
Compared to the design of an Apple watch, OPPO's smart watch is missing the rotating crown on the right side of the watch. Instead, OPPO's smart watch comes with two physical buttons on the right side of the watch. Display of the OPPO watch is slightly curved at the edges compared to the Apple watch design.
OPPO watch will be available from 24th, March in China and soon it will be available in international markets as well.
